We’ve been manufacturing at Erskine since the end of the First World War. Originally producing prosthetic limbs for war veterans; over the years other kinds of woodwork and craftsmanship such as furniture making and basket weaving have developed, thereby providing occupational therapy and a source of income for the charity.
Nowadays, built on many years’ experience and craftsmanship, Erskine Furniture provides employment for veterans and supplies high quality furniture to retailers across the UK. We also have a popular showroom at Erskine.
We opened a new £2 million production facility in 1996. Using computer aided design and computer controlled machinery, these modern technologies complement our craftsmanship and attention to detail.
The Scandinavian redwood we use comes only from properly managed forests. Our suppliers subscribe to the Environmental Timber Purchasing Policy developed for the Forests Forever Campaign for Timber. This means you get clear information on the source of the wood – and helps to promote good forest management.
