How volunteering works

As an Erskine volunteer you’ll receive training, which will help you understand how we work and any details specific to your role.

This will give you a broader knowledge of dementia and disability care –and broader skills which can be very useful in other aspects of life. We’ll also pay your out of pocket travelling expenses up to £15 a day.

Volunteer opportunities

Erskine volunteers assist in many different ways, such as

  • Helping in our Social Firms, including our Garden Centre
  • Working in one of our homes in Bishopton, Erskine, Edinburgh or Glasgow
  • Helping staff with, or leading, recreational activities
  • Assisting staff at mealtimes, administration duties, or running a library service
