Erskine veterans welcome TV gift from People’s Postcode Lottery

13-January-2012

Erskine veterans will be able to enjoy all home comforts after receiving a welcome donation of 10 new televisions from the People’s Postcode Lottery.

Scottish singer and People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Michelle McManus dropped by in the run up to Christmas to present the wonderful gift to Army veteran Alexander Johnstone at The Erskine Home, Bishopton.

The televisions will provide extra comfort in the bedrooms of residents who receive respite care at Erskine homes throughout the year.

Lesley Miller, Deputy Head of Fundraising at Erskine, said: “Erskine veterans say a very big thank you to the People’s Postcode Lottery for this wonderful surprise. These TVs will bring enjoyment to our ex-Service men and women all year round. We’re so grateful to you all for this thoughtful and generous gift.”

People’s Postcode Lottery Head of Communications, Lisa Imlach, said “Having a TV is something many people take for granted, and it was a welcome gift. As with our charity funding, both organisations will decide themselves on how to use the TVs, and how the most number of service users can benefit from the TVs. We hope that the TV sets have spread some festive cheer”.
