The veteran’s charity Erskine recently received a welcome boost to funds with a generous donation from a Campeltown Lodge.
Lodge St John No 141 is a long standing supporter of Erskine and has raised nearly £4,000 over the years. The most recent donation of £500 was presented to Erskine by Representative Archie Martin when he visited the charity’s Bishopton Home.
The money was raised by a dance in the lodge in Campbeltown for local residents. Further fundraising efforts this year will involve a sponsored cycle from Campbeltown to Erskine.
Archie said “It’s a pleasure to raise money for such a worthy cause and thanks to everyone in the local community who got behind our fundraising efforts. I’m really impressed at the five Erskine homes across Scotland and they do a superb job looking after our veterans. It’s a privilege to visit the veterans and support Erskine’s outstanding efforts.”
Erskine Fundraiser Alan Moss said: “We would like to thank everyone in the local community and members of the lodge for their ongoing support. We really appreciate their help caring for our brave veterans.”
