RCF's Fundrasing put to good use

24-January-2012

Veterans at our Erskine Glasgow Home are resting easy thanks to their new electronic beds, courtesy of the Rangers Charity Foundation.

The new beds, 37 to date, are part of an upgrade programme which is replacing existing hydraulic beds with electronic ones. The beds fully adjustable at the touch of a button allow veterans the opportunity to be more independent, not only getting in and out of bed but finding their most comfortable position for reading and watching TV.

This is all thanks to the hard work and dedication of supporters of the Rangers Charity Foundation. Their hard work for Erskine is raising £20,000 not only to help supply the beds but also to refurbish the Royal Scots Shop located in the Erskine Bishopton Home.

Gordon Johnston, Erskine Glasgow Home manager, said “We’re delighted with our new electronic beds and can’t thank the Rangers Charity Foundation enough for their support. This will make a huge difference to our veterans’ quality of life. Thank you to everyone who helped raise vital funds for the foundation.

The foundation continue to raise vital funds for Erskine this season and have some exciting events coming up.

You can also help raise vital funds for the Foundation and Erskine. You can trek in the Grand Canyon, skydive at 120mph freefall, play football with your heroes at Ibrox amongst many other exciting challenges.
