What's it like living at Erskine?

Q - How often does a General Practitioner Visit?
A -
A GP is available on site every day. A dentist and optician attends weekly.


Q - What facilities are in each bedroom?
A -
All of the self-contained bedrooms have en-suite shower and toilet facilities as well as a nurse call alarm system, television point and telephone socket. Personal lines or Internet connections can be arranged at additional cost. Residents can have a key to their room if they wish. Well proportioned and tastefully decorated, each room has a pleasant view of the garden grounds. Residents are encouraged to bring personal belongings and mementoes to make the facilities more like "home".


Q - What is the food like at Erskine?

Catering staff in the well-equipped kitchens prepare a range of tasty and nutritionally balanced meals offering variety and choice. There are daily menus to choose from for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Each menu offers an appetising selection of dishes to appeal to all tastes and dietary requirements. Main meals are served in the pleasant, bright dining areas and tea, coffee and snacks are available throughout the day.


Q - What are the visiting times at Erskine?

There are no restrictions on visits and friends and family are always welcome. They can visit residents in their own rooms, meet in the coffee shop, or relax in one of the quiet lounges for a chat.

 

How do I apply?

Q - Who is eligible for Erskine Care?

A - Erskine cares for those richly deserving ex-Service men and women of all ages, in need of residential, nursing, dementia or respite, short-break care. Anyone who has served either as a Regular or in National Service, in the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Army or Royal Airforce is eligible to apply for Erskine Care. Ex-Merchant Navy personnel, who have served in conflict, are also eligible to apply.

Q - How do I find out about costs for care at Erskine?

A - The first point of contact regarding costs would be your local Social Work department.


Q - What would I need to discuss with the Social Work department?

A - You would need to advise that application has been made to Erskine for care and you would ask them to do an assessment of needs.


Q - Can we come to visit Erskine?
