Our Door to Door fundraisers have been receiving a wonderful response from members of the public who have been pledging their support to Erskine during our house to house fundraising campaign. Carefully trained fundraisers are knocking on doors across the nation to spread the word about Erskine in a bid to recruit vital long-term support for our veterans.

Door-to-door and Private site fundraising

Did you know that there are around 400,000 veterans in Scotland. Each year, over 1,000 veterans call upon Erskine to provide vital care and support. We must raise almost £9 million each year to provide our care and door-to-door and private site fundraising are two of the most cost effective ways to talk to people about Erskine and gather regular support.

Why is Door-to-door and Private site fundraising important?

Regular donations from our door-to-door and private site fundraising supporters are very important to Erskine as they provide an efficient and reliable source of income. Regular donations allow us to plan our care better. Each week we must raise £171,000 to provide our high standard of care for veterans and it’s only thanks to the on going kindness of our supporters that we can continue to be here for ex-Service men and women when they need us most.

You may be visited by our fundraisers if you live in any area of Scotland. You may also see us at events or in your local shop

Our team of door-to-door fundraisers are working in designated locations across Scotland. Our current campaign is running from October 2016 to September 2017.

Our fundraisers always wear Erskine branded clothing and identification badges to help you identify them

We work with a fundraising agency called Appco to carry out our fundraising. Fundraisers are provided with an authorisation letter signed by a senior member of the fundraising department at Erskine to confirm they have been employed to fundraise on our behalf in a specific area. Our fundraisers are typically aged between 20 and 35 and will be carrying Erskine information, such as welcome packs, direct debit forms and/or ipads.

We work closely with Appco to ensure our representatives adhere to the fundraising regulations and Codes of Practice set out by the Institute of Fundraising.

Our fundraisers will never ask for cash, cheque or card donations

The purpose of our door-to-door and private site fundraising is to raise awareness of our care and encourage support of Erskine through regular donations by Direct Debit, which is a safe and convenient method of giving. Fundraisers will never ask for a donation by cash, cheque, or debit/credit card. If you would like to make a donation please contact our fundraising department directly on 0141 814 4657.

What time do our fundraisers work?

Our fundraisers can knock doors between 3pm and 9pm. This is necessary in order to reach people when they are home from work.

Are Erskine fundraisers trained?

Yes. We train our fundraisers continuously in order to meet the high Erskine standards we expect. They are trained by Erskine staff and meet veterans at Erskine’s Homes so they can see first-hand the difference they are making as fundraisers for Erskine.

Erskine will never sell or share your information

Erskine will never sell or share your information. At Erskine we take the collection of personal data very seriously, and have measures in place to ensure that the information required to set up a Direct Debit is safe and secure. We fully comply with the rules and principles set out by the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Information Commissioner in relation to the collection and processing of all personal data.
