ABF The Soldiers’ Charity has awarded a generous grant of £150,000 towards the provision of nursing, dementia, and palliative care for Army Veterans resident at Erskine. The award will enable us to continue with our delivery of enhanced care and support services for the Army family, including physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, and a broad programme of daily activities. Such services play a critical role in ensuring those we care for can achieve the very best quality of life possible.
Commenting on the donation, Erskine Chief Executive Ian Cumming said: “Erskine is renowned for the provision of sector leading care services for elderly, frail, and disabled Veterans, but we can only achieve this through the generosity and commitment of our donors. We are therefore extremely grateful to the Trustees of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity for this substantial grant and indeed their generous support over many years. It will make a tangible difference to the Army Veterans we have the great privilege of caring for, by enabling us to provide high quality care and support services upon which they and their families depend, and ensuring they live in an environment where they can continue to engage with others who have shared experiences and backgrounds, and where their individual needs are identified and met.”
Brigadier (Ret’d) Robin Bacon, Chief of Staff, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity adds: “We are delighted to support Erskine for another year to help Army veterans with the care they need. Erskine is a top quality care facility that consistently provides outstanding nursing to veterans living in their Scottish care homes and we are thankful for their continued hard work to be the best they can be.”
