Professor Jackie Taylor MBE graduated from the University of Glasgow Medical School having trained in General Internal and Geriatric Medicines. Appointed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, she played an integral role in developing services for older people, including specialist Stroke Medicine and Heart Failure services.

She has a strong interest in the training and education of healthcare professionals and holds an Honorary Senior Clinical Lectureship. In 2018, she was appointed Honorary Professor at the University of Glasgow.
In 2019, Professor Taylor became the first woman elected President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in its 420-year history. As President, she led the modernisation of the College’s structure and governance and guided the organisation through the COVID-19 pandemic, with a focus on workforce wellbeing and advancing equality, diversity and inclusion.

Currently Associate Medical Director for the NHS Scotland Academy, she has also held Board roles with the British Geriatrics Society and the British Society of Heart Failure and serves on the External Advisory Group for Lincoln University Medical School.

She has received multiple honorary fellowships, an Honorary Doctor of Science, and an MBE in the King’s New Year Honours List 2023. She is honoured to join the Erskine Board and strongly supports its work with veterans.
