Ideas for fundraising at home

There are lots of simple ways to fundraise from home. You can take part in your own personal challenge, or set up an event with your family or friends. Looking for inspiration? Here are a few ideas to get you started.

  • Order a Home Money Box or Coin Card to save up your spare change

  • Host a quiz night with friends or family.

  • Run a bake sale or a coffee morning.

  • Ask for donations instead of gifts for a birthday or special occasion.

  • Set yourself a sponsored challenge, like a walk, run or cycle.

  • Organise a virtual fundraiser and invite people to join from their own homes.

  • Hold a raffle, games night, or themed evening.

  • Have a sponsored camp-out in your garden

  • Hold a garden party and add a theme

  • Do a clear-out and sell unwanted items online or at a car boot sale.

  • Take on a month-long fundraising challenge and ask people to sponsor you.

How to get started

  1. Choose what kind of fundraiser you want to run. You can find extra ideas and planning tips in our free fundraising pack.

  2. Before you start your fundraising, why not contact us to arrange a tour of our homes and see exactly how your fundraising will make a difference.

  3. Pick a date and decide who you’d like to involve – friends, family, neighbours, or a small group online.

  4. Set up your fundraising page or method of collection. If you’re fundraising online, we recommend using JustGiving.

  5. Tell people what you’re doing and why you’re supporting Erskine, and include a link to your JustGiving page or our Donate page so they can give easily.

  6. On the day, enjoy your event and keep a simple record of what you raise.

  7. Transfer the money to Erskine via your Just‑Giving page, the donate page, or by sending a cheque to the Fundraising Department if you’ve collected cash.

  8. Take as many pictures as you can, and we can put them on our social media to say thank you!
