Rangers fan Andrew Baird has decided to take on one of the toughest physical and mental challenges around, to raise funds for Erskine and the Rangers Youth Development Company.
On the weekend of 4th to 6th June Andy will attempt the 4x4x48 challenge.
It sounds simple enough, run four miles every four hours for 48 hours. Devised by the ex US Navy Seal David Goggins it is recognised as one of the ultimate challenges of both physical and mental strength.
The 12 x 4 mile runs being completed in just 48 hours is similar to running a marathon each day. With each run being only four hours apart, the effect on the runner’s body is immense and when you add sleep deprivation into the mix the enormity of the challenge becomes very apparent.
Andrew (pictured) will run the first and last four miles around RFC Ibrox stadium. On each of these four miles stints Andrew will be joined by some very well-known Rangers faces, hopefully helping him to get off to a flying start and to successfully finish this incredible challenge. We hear the new RSEA President Gordon Smith is warming up already!
