The Libor Fund has awarded Erskine a generous grant of £124,031 for the purpose of developing the work of our Dementia Nurse Consultant over the next three years. This will allow us to provide the highest level of care possible for our residents who are living with dementia. Janice McAlister, our Dementia Nurse Consultant, will continue to work across all four Erskine Homes for the direct benefit of our residents, their families and our staff. We would like to thank all involved with The Libor Fund for their support of our work and the veterans we care for. The grant comes as Janice completes her first year in post, which has been a huge success. We remain grateful to the original funders of this innovative project, particularly the Scottish Veterans Fund and the Armed Forces Covenant Fund.
Derek Barron, Director of Care, commented “the excellent support we receive has made a difference in the lives of our residents. Through the training Janice has provided we have staff who are more knowledgeable and more skilled in caring for our residents living with dementia, however those same skills also benefit all our residents. The scope and depth of our recently launched dementia strategy is only possible through the generous support we have received and for which we are extremely grateful, thank you.”
