The Veterans’ charity Erskine is proud and delighted to announce that Deputy Director of Care, Pauline McIntyre, has been honoured with a prestigious Royal College of Nursing Award of Merit. Pauline’s exceptional contribution in her role as Erskine’s RCN Steward was recognised at the opening ceremony of the 2019 RCN Congress in Liverpool.
Pauline, from Port Glasgow, has worked with Erskine since 2003 and, as well as being RCN Steward and Learning Representative, she is a highly respected member of the Erskine senior management team. Testament alone to her skills and manner that staff feel able and willing to approach her for guidance while she retains such a senior management position.
A forthright advocate for her fellow colleagues, Pauline commenced training with the RCN to become a Steward and Learning Representative in 2008. For many years Erskine staff have benefited from her knowledge and experience. Her high level of integrity, tenacity and dedication to the staff, organisation but pre-eminently the residents living within Erskine’s care made her a perfect candidate for such a high honour.
Of her award Pauline said: “I am honoured to receive this award. It’s been a privilege supporting colleagues here at Erskine since 2008 when I took on the role of RCN Steward and Learning Rep. I’d like to thank Erskine for this nomination”.
Director of Care Derek Barron said: “We are immensely proud of Pauline receiving this award in recognition of her leadership and dedication not only to our staff here at Erskine but also to our residents. The award recognises her service to the RCN, to Erskine and to her profession. She is an inspirational leader who supports and cares for her colleagues”.
