RAF Veteran and TV Presenter
Glen Michael, a beloved entertainer and television icon, was long a cherished part of Scotland’s cultural landscape. Best known for his success with Glen Michael’s Cartoon Cavalcade, he later turned his support to Scotland’s leading Veterans’ charity.
Glen’s career in entertainment began on stage, performing for troops alongside his wife, Beryl, during the war – before he himself joined the RAF. From there, he found his way into television, fronting an iconic children’s show that captured the hearts of generations. His talent and charisma also made him a mainstay of the Scottish theatre circuit, performing alongside legends such as Rikki Fulton and Jack Milroy.
A lifelong performer and storyteller, Glen’s warmth and humour endeared him to audiences for decades. With a deep respect for those who have served, he was proud to lend his voice in support of their care and well-being.
Glen sadly passed away recently at the age of 99. Glen was a charismatic, friendly and inspiring man and is remembered hugely fondly by everyone at Erskine. We are proud to have called him an Erskine Ambassador.
Having served, I understand the sacrifices made by our servicemen and women. It is an honour to stand with Erskine and support their mission of supporting Veterans.
