Scott Meenagh

2nd Battalion Parachute Regiment Veteran and Sportsman

Scott, from Cumbernauld, has been both a valued supporter and great friend to Erskine’s Veterans since 2015.

Scott will always be a Paratrooper. His infectious optimism and pursuit of success in all areas of his life are testament to that. In the forces Scott found his calling as well as somewhere he could express in action his passion for service to others.  As paramedic for his unit, those skills - intended for others - helped save his own life when he stepped on an improvised explosive device in January 2011.

Inspired by sport and driven by the memory of lost colleagues, Scott learned to walk again on prosthetic legs and turned his attention to sporting success.  Scott was Invictus Games Captain of the British Armed Forces Rowing Team in 2014 – winning two silver medals – competed at the Winter Paralympics in 2018 - becoming the first Paralympics GB Para Nordic skier to compete for 20 years and the first ever GB athlete to compete in a sitting class. Scott is currently training for the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing.

It is a tremendous honour to be an Ambassador for Erskine Veterans’ Charity. Erskine has been setting the standards for Veterans’ care for over a century and seeing the incredible work they do gives me, and fellow Veterans, real confidence in the life-long availability to us and our families.

Keep up to date with Erskine
