“It is so important that people continue to donate money to Erskine, we have a duty to care for the men and women who have served their country when they need it most.”
Isobel Kirkwood was a school teacher during the Second World War, based in London. She has vivid memories of the blitz and of the V1 and V2 rocket attacks on the capital. She met her husband Robert at a RAF dance during the war. Robert was a spitfire pilot in the Royal Air Force from 1941.
Robert was an Erskine resident for 7 years from 1997 to 2004. Isobel says, “I cannot speak highly enough about Erskine. The way that they cared for Robert was truly amazing and I really don’t know what I would have done if it was not for them.”
Isobel is now a volunteer at Erskine and regularly helps out the Fundraising Team.
