Erskine Celebrates Scottish Care Award Success

Erskine Veterans Charity, Scotland’s leading veterans’ charity, was delighted to have two finalists at this year’s highly anticipated Scottish Care Home Awards. The event, held on Friday 14th November at Glasgow’s Hilton Hotel, once again celebrated the exceptional dedication, innovation, and achievements of care home professionals across Scotland.

At the glittering black-tie ceremony, Erskine Edinburgh’s Registered Nurse Kirsty Brown (45) from Edinburgh, who has been with Erskine for 11 years, was named as a finalist in the Emerging Talent category. Meanwhile, Lorna Grayston (42), Lead Senior Care Assistant at The Erskine Home in Bishopton, reached the finals for Care Worker of the Year.

To the delight of the entire Erskine team, Lorna, from Stevenson and a member of staff for 15 years, was announced as the winner of the Care Worker of the Year award — an outstanding achievement.

Director of Care, Derek Barron, said: “Although we work together as a team, wrapped around the care of our residents, it is important to pause and recognise the remarkable contributions made by individuals. Being shortlisted for two awards is a tremendous achievement, and Lorna’s win highlights the compassion, professionalism, and innovation she brings to Erskine every day. We are equally proud of Kirsty for being shortlisted; both exemplify the very best of our values, and it is wonderful to see their dedication acknowledged by peers across the Scottish care home sector. As the only veterans’ charity in Scotland offering care, support and accommodation for veterans across a variety of services we are incredibly proud of our people and the exceptional care and support they provide on a daily basis”.
