Wonderful Talent of Erskine RN Veteran Mac McDade
The Erskine Veterans Charity is always very proud to showcase the talents of our wonderful Veterans and this time it is the outstanding work of Royal Navy Veteran Mac McDade. Mac is not only a member of the Erskine Veterans Activity Centre in Bishopton but he is also one the Centre’s Art Tutors.
The members had requested that a painting of King Charles III be on display at the Centre and it was suggested that this was an ideal opportunity to showcase the talented artists who attend EVAC West. The members committee felt this would be a great idea and Mac took up the challenge. Once the image of the King had been selected Mac got to work.
Mac is a highly accomplished portrait artist and after months of creativity he completed the painting.
Everyone is absolutely delighted with the finished result and it was another addition to the hugely successful VE80 event.
Mac, who saw active duty during the Falklands conflict, has done a superb job of the not only taking on the challenge set but completing it to such a high standard. We cannot thank him enough.
For any artistic folk out there the painting is oils on canvas, this is why it isn’t framed yet and once totally dry we plan to get a frame to show it off to its fullest.
