Trust fundraising
Support from charitable trusts, foundations and other grant-making organisations enables Erskine to deliver sector leading care and support services for the veteran community across Scotland.
This source of charitable income makes a tangible difference to our beneficiaries’ lives. For example, grants help us to:
- Deliver enhanced care services in all three Erskine Care Homes, including physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, podiatry, hairdressing and a broad programme of meaningful daily activities.
- Purchase specialist equipment to support the provision of high quality nursing care in our homes, including pressure relieving mattresses, adapted seating, assisted baths, lifting aids and sensory equipment.
- Facilitate capital works and refurbishment across our homes, maintaining a safe, comfortable and homely environment for residents and their families.

Deliver specialist training to care staff, for example in the areas of dementia care, palliative care and Namaste care, to ensure the provision of person-centred services for each Erskine resident.

Operate the Erskine Reid Macewen Activities Centre, for veterans living in our local communities. Grants support the purchase of materials and equipment for the Centre and the employment of sessional staff to lead classes such as woodwork, art, IT and music.
- Provide a range of multi-purpose housing for veterans and their families, including 24 supported apartments for veterans who are: upon the point of transition from military to civilian life; encountering difficulties shortly after leaving the military; or going through another transitional period of their post service life.
In addition to project funding, unrestricted grants allow us to direct funding to areas of greatest beneficiary need, for example the delivery of specialist care for veterans living with dementia.
We simply couldn’t carry out our work without the support we receive from charitable trusts, foundations and other grant-making organisations. The generosity and commitment of our donors ensures no matter what challenges veterans face, we can offer the best care and support services possible and enable them to maximise their potential and quality of life.
We have a dedicated team who work closely with charitable trusts, foundations and other grant-making organisations. We aim to collaborate with our donors to discuss potential funding options, ensure grants are spent appropriately and terms and conditions are met, allow for the exchange of ideas and expertise, report back to Trustees regularly and develop mutually beneficial partnerships. We also encourage donors to visit our homes and Activities Centre, to experience the warm and friendly environment in which our charitable services operate and to evidence how donations directly help our beneficiaries to enjoy full and meaningful lives.
