The Scottish Veterans Fund continue their support of Erskine through funding a newly appointed Financial Inclusion Officer at the Activities Centre.
The Scottish Veterans Fund, administered by Veterans Scotland, has awarded the Erskine Reid Macewen Activities Centre an incredible grant of £25,900 over the next two years. The donation will enable the Centre to run a financial One-Stop-Shop, giving veterans access to advice, guidance and support across a wide range of financial topics. The majority of members at the Activities Centre left the Forces at a time where there was little to no transitional support available to them, and many are still unaware of the full catalogue of support on offer. Projects like the One-Stop-Shop make sure veterans are receiving the support they deserve and are entitled to, and know where to find help if they need it.
The Activities Centre works to combat social isolation, improve wellbeing and increase skills though meaningful activity. Funding such as the grant from the Scottish Veterans Fund, which is jointly supported by Scottish Ministers and Standard Life Aberdeen, makes a significant difference to the lives of these incredible men and women.
Centre Manager Debs Dickson said: ‘We are incredibly grateful of the support from the Scottish Veterans Fund. To be able to offer this service in-house provides a key enhancement to the first class service we provide for our veterans’.
