Unforgotten Forces – The Unforgotten Forces consortium

The Unforgotten Forces consortium is a shining example of ambitious, innovative collaboration. Bringing together 16 distinct and diverse organisations with a single focus was no easy feat. Securing funding and developing a range of service enhancements was even harder. However, all of the Unforgotten Forces partners are committed to a coordinated, collective effort to ensure Scotland’s older Veterans and their families receive the best possible support. This has been a ground-breaking project with life-changing results. Being recognised at the Scottish Charity Awards would be a ringing endorsement for what can be achieved when we work together.

Erskine is a major contributing member of the Unforgotten Forces Consortium. Our work to bring compassionate care to our residents’ lives is well known. However, the “life-changing and life-saving opportunity for camaraderie and support, which our Veterans Activity Centre offers to Veterans in the wider community, is also absolutely central to the Unforgotten Forces Consortium’s work.

We are therefore delighted to announce that the UFC is a finalist in the Pioneering Project category of the 2019 Scottish Charity Awards. Being shortlisted is a great achievement in itself and this is only possible because of the incredible success story we have collectively created.

In addition to the Pioneering Project category, all finalists are put forward for the People’s Choice award. As the name suggests, this is a public vote for what is consider to be the most deserving nominee.
