Erskine’s Sporting Senior Games

Erskine’s Sporting Senior Games are a hugely popular annual event. The Games were first hosted in 2014 to celebrate the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Over the past ten years, hundreds of older people have competed together in various accessible sports, staying physically active despite living with physical disabilities and other life-limiting health conditions.
The event involves teams from Erskine’s Homes, our Activities Centre and other care homes across Scotland. This year teams each hosted the event day at their own home. However all teams competed for medals in eight different sports including basketball, Boccia bowls and javelin. The overall winners receive the John Bowman Trophy, named after an inspirational Erskine veteran. Our teams then reunite for our award ceremony at the Glynhill Hotel with afternoon tea and live music.
This year our thanks go to RB Safety Consultants for their sponsorship of the Games.

The generosity of our supporters allows the charity to maintain our commitment to care for Scotland’s Veterans – without donations we simply cannot continue this work.
