Erskine Veterans Charity Tree of Honour 2025

Erskine Veterans Charity Tree of Honour 2025

The Erskine Veterans Charity Tree of Honour event took place this week at the Erskine Veterans Village in Bishopton.  And even though the weather was pretty miserable, everyone was in great spirits. The evening kicked off with a warm welcome from Erskine CEO Ian Cumming, followed by a lovely prayer to get everyone in the festive mood.

Residents, staff, families, friends, and volunteers then gathered together to sing some Christmas carols, with the Salvation Army Band providing the perfect festive soundtrack.

This year’s gorgeous Christmas tree, kindly donated by Richard Irvin, stood proudly at the entrance to The Erskine Home. The special honour of switching on the lights went to resident John McLean, who was absolutely thrilled to be asked.

After the big switch-on, everyone made their way over to The Bunker to warm up and listen to the fabulous Angela Duncan singing. There were hot drinks, more singing, lots of laughter, and even a wee dance or two to finish the night off.

The Tree of Honour now stands shining brightly at the entrance to The Erskine Home making all who pass it smile as its so lovely.

A huge thank-you to photographer Jamie Williamson for capturing all the joy and magic of the evening.
