Veteran Completes Aberdeen Kiltwalk in Erskine Mascot Costume
Erskine Veterans Activity Centre North member Shaun Moat successfully completed the 18-mile Aberdeen Kiltwalk while wearing the Erskine Veterans Charity mascot, Arasgain, raising an incredible £515 so far for the charity.

Taking on the challenge in the full mascot outfit added an extra level of difficulty, with the weight and heat of the costume making every mile even tougher. Despite the physical demands, Shaun pushed through to the finish line in support of Scotland's veterans and their families.
Speaking after the event, Shaun said:
"The atmosphere along the route was absolutely amazing, and the support from the public kept me going when things got really tough. Wearing the mascot certainly attracted plenty of attention, but if it helps raise awareness and funds for the incredible work Erskine does, then every aching muscle was worth it. I'm so grateful to everyone who has donated and cheered me on."
Michael Parkes, North Fundraising and Development Manager at Erskine, praised Shaun's determination:
"A huge congratulations and thank you to Shaun for his incredible achievement. Walking 18 miles is a challenge for anyone. Conquering that distance in Erskine's mascot costume, with the weight and heat that come with it, is phenomenal. Shaun battled through the pain barrier for many miles. His incredible grit and determination to reach the finish line are a testament to him and his fellow veterans. Thank you again, Shaun."
Although the walk has now been completed, donations are still being accepted to support Erskine's vital work providing care, support and opportunities for veterans across Scotland.
