The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund brings Festive Cheer to EVAC North
We are delighted to share that The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund has awarded a fantastic grant of £5,000 to Erskine Veterans Charity. This grant will support the core costs of delivering Erskine Veterans Activity Centre North.
This generous grant brings much festive cheer as a contribution was allocated to EVAC North’s first ever Christmas lunch! Held on Tuesday 2 December, over a 100 members and staff came together to celebrate and enjoy some festive camaraderie with their fellow Veterans. We are hugely grateful to everyone at the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund for this wonderful support of Scotland’s Veteran community.
Erskine Veterans Activity Centre North (EVAC North), in Forres, Morayshire, is a vibrant new hub for Veterans living in the North of Scotland. Offering essential resources, peer support, and tailored activity/wellbeing programmes designed to address the specific challenges faced by Veterans. EVAC North provides a welcoming environment where Veterans of all ages can connect with one another, learn new skills, and find renewed purpose in their lives after service.

David Grant, EVAC North Manager said: “We are deeply grateful for this generous grant and the steadfast support behind it, from the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund. This investment empowers us to continue building valuable projects, strengthen our Veteran community, and support us in making life changing differences to those we serve.
Opened in January 2025, EVAC North has already reached nearly 600 Veterans in need and Erskine is hugely proud that this vital work will continue thanks to generous supporters like The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.
Irene Greenwood, Welfare Programmes Manager at the RAF Benevolent Fund, said: “Working closely with military charities is an essential part of the Fund’s support to the RAF Family. The work that the Erskine Veterans Charity undertakes is vital for RAF veterans and their families, and the Fund stands by ready to help wherever we can.”
